No advertising, ever
Not a banner, not a brand tie-in, not a "sponsored friend." Nobody buys their attention from us, because we don't sell it.
Dimpkin is a small, warm companion that lives in a pocket. It wakes up for a bedtime story, a voice note from Nana, a minute with a creature that's honestly pleased to see them — then it goes quiet again. No feeds. No streaks. No ads. Ever.
Designed and made in Aotearoa New Zealand by Nimble Hive.
Four small moments, scattered through an ordinary day. That's the whole product.
The screen glows awake and there's a small creature waiting — a little sleepy, a little hungry, properly delighted. Your child feeds it, lets it rest, plays a round of something silly. A couple of minutes, then it curls back up and the screen goes dark again.
No streaks, no guilt mechanics. Dimpkin never sulks to get your child's attention back — it's just glad when they're there, and fine when they're not.
Real voices, from the small handful of people you've said yes to. Your child holds a button, talks, and lets go. There's no keyboard, no thread to scroll, no little grey ticks telling anyone whether it was heard.
You choose exactly who can send — nobody else can reach in. No read receipts, no reply pressure, no chat history sitting around. A note is a hug, not a message anyone owes.
Pocket money arrives as gold stars in a jar. Your child watches it fill up — that's it. No balance to refresh, no card, no bank app, nothing to spend from the device itself. Just the shape of saving, in a picture a six-year-old already understands.
You top it up from your phone — weekly, one-off, or whenever the lawn gets mowed. It's read-only for your child: no spending, no checkout, no upsell. Not one.
A small shelf of audio you filled yourself: bedtime stories, lullabies, calm music, the ones your family already loves. It lives on the device, so it works in the car, on a plane, at the bach with no signal. When bedtime comes, Dimpkin quiets down on its own.
You curate the shelf — everything on it got there because a parent put it there. No autoplay into the unknown, no "you might also like." A bedtime schedule you set once; after lights out, the screen simply stops.
Wi-Fi, contacts, the audio shelf, bedtime, pocket-money top-ups — all of it sits in your app, on your phone, behind your face. Which is exactly why the device in your child's pocket has no settings screen, no store, no prices and nothing to tap by accident.
Dark screen. No notifications waiting to pounce by morning. No streak to protect, nothing saved up to lure anyone back. Screen time was never the point of this. Presence is.
The things that matter most are the ones nobody's watching. These aren't settings you have to find and switch off — they're how Dimpkin is built, in writing, for good.
Not a banner, not a brand tie-in, not a "sponsored friend." Nobody buys their attention from us, because we don't sell it.
No streaks, no daily-login rewards, no FOMO, no notifications designed to pull a child back to a screen. Forget about it for a fortnight and nothing is lost.
There is no shop on the device. No prices, no upsells, no "ask a grown-up to unlock." Every purchase decision is made by a parent, in the parent app.
If a subscription lapses, Dimpkin quietly steps down to a full free tier and keeps working — forever. It does not become a paperweight because a payment failed.
We collect the least we can to make it work. No behavioural analytics on children, no profiles, nothing sold or shared. COPPA-safe from the first sketch, not bolted on later.
We publish a written commitment for what happens to every device if this company ever winds down — so the thing in your child's pocket outlives our business plan.
These aren't features we might trade away later. They're the reason the product exists.

Pre-launch. The software and the companion are well along; we're finishing the enclosure and working through safety certification. We're not taking orders yet — the waitlist is how you hear first, and there's no obligation attached to it.
They're for the people in the note, not for us. Notes gently expire after they've been heard, we don't build profiles from them, and we don't run behavioural analytics on children.
No. Dimpkin is not a location device and not a listening device. It's a companion, an audio shelf, and a way for a small circle of family to leave a voice. We think a child's pocket should hold a friend, not a monitor.
If you stop subscribing, the device keeps working. The companion, the offline audio already on it, and the star jar all stay. You lose only the parts that genuinely need us to run a live service — you never lose the toy.
Leave an email and we'll write to you once — when there's a real device, a real date, and a real price.
